More gigs..

1st September, mojo in Liverpool, also at the same venue the band will be supporting The Young Rebel Set on the 6th of October. many thanks to all involved at last saturdays Westonbury festival. what a great day!

The Fireflys confirmed for Westonbury  2010..

On 21/08/10  the band will be playing the now legendary westonbury festival, in weston point Runcorn. The band take the stage at 9pm, the venue this year is at the Weaver hotel.
also dont forget, this saturday at the Cavern, Liverpool!

New gigs announced

Friday 30th July sees the band take to the stage at the Engine rooms in skelmersdale, the aforementioned cavern gig on the 14th August, and on the 1st of September moho in Liverpool. More dates and news to be announced soon.

Return to the Cavern

As part of Jar Music groups breakout festival, the band will be playing a special showcase at the Cavern in Liverpool on the 14th august 2010, more details to follow.

New Firefly announced

Nothing to do with Joss wheadon this one! The band would like to announce the Arrival of a brand new Firefly,
as of yesterday (28/06/10) Craig Ellison will be taking up residence behind the drumkit, We would like to welcome Craig into the fold and wish him a Happy tenure with the band. Craigs first gig will be in runcorn a week on friday (09/07/10) at the chambers.

Callum mcclean to interview the band

This coming friday ( 2/7/10)  local legend Callum Maclean will be interviewing the band on halton fm, 92.3fm, from 6.30pm

Debut continues to sell,

The band would like to take a moment to say thank you to all their loyal  fans out there, without your continued support, as you know, the band would not be worth anything. Week by week, " better to burn out" continues to sell, some sales from the UK, most however are from lands far and away, for instance, last week the album was bought in Vallejo, California, the week before that, a few copies dowloaded in Arkansas. So Lee, Johnny and Matt would like to thank you all for enjoying the music and supporting the band in such a dedicated way. heres hoping the fanbase and band continue to grow, if you keeping listening, the band will keep playing. many many thank yous. x

The Homecoming..

Radio Caroline play songs from Debut

The great people on the good ship  Radio Caroline have been playing a few tracks off the bands debut, 
again many thanks to the lovely people onboard  the Bands management and PR team.

New songs to debut at the Cavern

On the 4th of June when the band play the cavern they will be debuting two new songs from the upcoming as yet untitled second album, these songs are : 13 Bricks and Talking to the satellite. The band are hoping for a late October/early November release date for the album.

Two Gigs announced..

The band will be opening an alternative show at Brannigans in Warrington on the 14th May and they will be returning to The Cavern in Liverpool on the 4th june, contact the venue or Management for tickets.

More radio stations play " Better To Burn Out"

Two more Liverpool radio stations have started to play the album, MAR ( merseyland alternative radio) and The Scene Liverpool have been playing a few tracks off the album, all thanks to a certain " Radar Roy" so many thanks to Roy and the guys at the station.

The Fireflys big gig press junket

On the run-up to the march 6th gig at the holiday inn, Runcorn, Media and press will be featuring the band. First off tommorrow ( 28/02/10) xanadu radio 107fm, top jock Tony Hollis will be interviewing Lee live on his show, between 2-5, to listen click on the link below for more details. Then on Wednesday a feature in The Guardian by Hannah Bargery will be printed, also on Wednesday Lee and Richie will be Special guests on Halton fm, 92.3 fm from 7pm ,hear it on haltoncommunityradio.net.

Radio Xanadu play " Better to Burn out" in full

The Fireflys and Patrick Jones to host unconventional gig

On the 6th of March,  The Fireflys will be teaming up with thought provoking and often controversial poet and playwrite Patrick Jones,
at a gig in the Holiday inn Runcorn, Patrick will be performing lyrics and songs from his new album " tongues for a stammering time " as well as other material, The Fireflys will be playing a 70 minute set as a way of thanking everyone who has supported them in the last 12 months,  tickets are a nominally cheap 6 pounds, just email on the contact page, or its 7 pounds on the door, for more info on Patrick please visit

The Fireflys reach over 100,000

On page 2 of this weeks Runcorn weekly news and Warrington guardian there is a feature on the band, luckily, its in the 2 free papers that circulate over both towns, so fingers crossed, it will generate some more good sales for the album, oh and err HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Album launch at The Cavern, Liverpool

Most bands just have one album launch and have done with it, but not The Fireflys, no sir.
The band will be promoting the launch of the album on the 3rd of December at the Mighty Cavern in Liverpool, possibly the most famous club in the world, the home to the biggest band ever..Gerry and the pacemakers! ( erm...)
Tickets are 5 pound, either from the venue or contact the band.

Manchester Rock Radio 106.1 band of the week

Lee and Richie will be apearing on the breakfast show with Steve Berry and Rachel this coming friday 16/10/09 to talk about the forthcoming album, play an acoustic version of a FF classic and even play a jingle! tune in at 8AM this friday.

St Helens Citadel gig

There are still some tickets available for our next show at the Citadel on the 24th October, either contact the band for tickets or buy them from the venue, its listed under  "good times". tickets are 6 pounds.
