The Fireflys second long Player comprises of 9 brand new tracks and a re-recording of debut album track "Dear Emily".
Recording began at Whitby studios in Ellesmere Port on the 5th of march 2011, recording continued through to the 6th of july, where the album was then taken to Elusive Studios in St Helens Merseyside, to be mixed and Tweaked.
The band had recorded an extra track entitled "Machine Gun" at Whitby Studios, but as the mixing got well under way, it was evident that the sound and structure of the song was far too heavy for this album. With this is mind the band decided to re-record "Dear Emily" from the first album as its sound would be far more at home on this album. The LP was intended to be released in September 2011, but due to the re-recording of "Dear Emily" which took place in mid October, the band knew there was no way of the album seeing a 2011 release.
Mixing was finished in december, but the band decided to wait for the festive season to be over before they put the wheels in motion to release the album. Feb 27th 2012 seemed like a perfect date for 'Cathedral' to finally see the light of day, as most songs have a slight summery feel to them and with the lighter nights comes the brighter songs.
We sincerley hope you enjoy this album as much as the band did making it. It was a full year in the making, but hopefully people will be listening to this album for years to come.

The bands debut album. The album is a somewhat rushed affair, with the
recording and mixing clocking it at around 52 hours over 5 days.
Recording began over Summer 2009 but the album was kept back for 5 months due to organising gigs to promote it. Sales were initially very slow and the album didnt even chart on any online polls upon its original release.
However in December 2010 after numerous gigs and a very busy year, the album nudged its way into the top 100 on the Amazon Download Chart. It seems it was here, that word of mouth got out, an unknown band had somehow managed to infiltrate the chart. The week later it climed to the top 50, then 40 until finally stalling at number 27.
The Band has seen this as a simply colossal achievement and can not thank the fans, and everybody who bought it, enough. The album is viewed as a one-dimensional piece of work with not much room for tones or layers, but despite this its not without its charm, and is hailed by some followers of the band as a very minor success, A true David VS Goliath moment in the Band's history.
